ARCNI have very kindly agreed to lend us their newly restored Steinway grand piano for our Tenebrae Service on Good Friday 6th April. 

We have been awarded a grant from ARCNI’s Small Grant Programme to support the Craig Ogden concert on 19th May and the Irish Voice concert on 15th September.

]]> http://friendsppc.org/wordpress/?feed=rss2&p=345 0 Ulster Architectural Heritage Society Visit (9iv11) http://friendsppc.org/wordpress/?p=338 http://friendsppc.org/wordpress/?p=338#comments Wed, 30 Mar 2011 15:19:07 +0000 admin http://friendsppc.org/wordpress/?p=338 FPPC and Portaferry Regeneration Ltd (PRL) today hosted a visit of the UAHS to Portaferry.  After fairly amazing elevenses provided by Ann Wilson, Dorothy McDonnell and a band of helpers, Neil McClure spoke to the Society about the proposals for the restoration of the building.  Will Brown of PRL and Nick Brown of the Prince’s Trust then outlined the proposals for the Heritage Lottery Townscape Initiative application for Portaferry.

Both bodies have been successful in their Round One Heritage Lottery submissions and PRL has just submitted its Round Two application.  We wish them well. 

Friends, PRL and the “Time and Tide” programme of the Strangford Lough and Lecale Partnership are working closely to develop a unified 5 year heritage plan for the town.
